Last year, Raymond High School defeated McComb High School 53 to 28. Raymond High School completed the back to back championship by defeating Morton High School 48-43. Officially back to back Class 4A MHSAA Boys Basketball Champions.
It was a close game. Jayden Bowie led Morton with 25 points and five rebounds. Xavier Stowers added 12 points, and Tay Reese recorded eight rebounds.
It took a total team effort, but the Rangers prevailed. Garrett scored 13 points for Raymond. Eli Robinson and Frazier each added nine points. Robinson also collected five rebounds.
Raymond led by as many as eight points in the third quarter. Morton’s largest lead was three points in the second quarter. The score was tied twice, and the lead changed three times.
