The four-star offensive lineman from Jackson, Mississippi, has committed to Ohio State, choosing the Buckeyes over Ole Miss, LSU, Kentucky and Oregon.
For Ohio State, it is a major recruiting win.
For Ole Miss, it is a tough one to let get away.
Moss is one of the top offensive line prospects in the Class of 2027. Listed around 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, he has the frame, strength and movement ability college coaches look for in a future Big Ten or SEC lineman.
He has the versatility to work at tackle or potentially slide inside at the college level. That flexibility makes him even more valuable.
A player who can handle edge speed, move people in the run game and still develop into an interior option is not easy to find.
That is why Moss had so many major programs involved in his recruitment.
Ole Miss was viewed as one of the serious contenders throughout the process. The Rebels have made keeping elite Mississippi talent home a priority, especially up front on the offensive and defensive lines.
But Ohio State made its move.
The Buckeyes continue to recruit nationally at an elite level, and Moss gives them another major piece for their 2027 offensive line class. He brings size, upside and the type of physical presence that can develop into a difference-maker at the college level.
For Mississippi high school football, Moss’ decision is another reminder that the state continues to produce big-time talent.
College programs are coming into Mississippi looking for more than skill-position players. They are finding offensive linemen, defensive linemen, quarterbacks, defensive backs and athletes capable of playing anywhere in the country.
Moss is proof of that.
He still has high school football left to play, and recruiting can change before signing day. But for now, Ohio State has landed one of Mississippi’s premier 2027 offensive-line prospects.
