Murrah Bounces Back With 48-23 Victory Over Callaway

After opening the 2026 season with a loss, the Mustangs came back one week later and defeated Callaway 48-23, giving Murrah its first victory of the season. For a young football team, that’s an important step. One week doesn’t have to become the next week. One result doesn’t have to define a season. Murrah proved that against Callaway.

Murrah entered Friday night at 0-1. Callaway came in 1-0 after opening its season with a 14-0 victory over Forest Hill. By the end of Friday night, both teams were 1-1. The biggest difference for Murrah was right there on the scoreboard. After being held to six points in its opener, the Mustangs responded by scoring 48 against Callaway.

Murrah improves to 1 and 1 on the season with the win. Callaway also sits at 1 and 1. Murrah hits the road to Canton on Friday, September 11th, while Callaway also plays that Friday, welcoming Grenada to town.
